Father Phoenix – Large Bodies LP
Milwaukee’s Father Phoenix began in August of 2005 in the loft apartment of Tyler Chicorel and Kristopher Maedke-Russell (Call Me Lightning). After a handful of shows as a two piece, the inevitable necessity of a bass player made itself apparent, and after some searching, Ryan Marszalek made himself available for bass and piano duties. Keith Stendler (Temper Temper, Insidious) is the last piece of the puzzle, joining in on organ for the 2009 "Large Bodies" EP on Forge Again Records.
Some words pinpoint a band's sound perfectly. One such word is 'loud' and one such band is Father Phoenix. Sonically blasting a hard edge of rock into the audio wall of their listeners' ears, the band recently added an organ to fill things out and add an even more intense element of psychedelia to their new material. Adding to the already existent barrage, Father Phoenix’s new sound is intensely mesmerizing.
